Appleblogging: Granny Smith
This used to be the only kind of apple I would ever buy, mainly for lack of knowledge about the other varieties out there. After a week of stuffing myself with all that appledom has to offer, the ol' granny comes up rather short. It tastes like apple-flavored things - tart, splenda-sweet and boring. As for texture, it's a little on the dry side, which is good for portability (and fiber, I suppose) but just adds to its boring nature.

Oh, please. The Granny is a classic. Clearly no Honeycrisp, but try it with extra-sharp cheddar and you will appreciate it more.

Cheddar nothing! Try it with a good gorganzola.

This is a nice blog. I came in from Chicago Bloggers. I need more pictures of Chicago because I'm homesick. LOL

Can't believe you're giving the Granny the cold shoulder. It's a classic that should be respected and eaten with cheese if possible.
