Thought one: Things are going super-duper in Iraq! Look at all those purple fingers, that economic growth and the schools Bechtel repainted. The country is well on its way to becoming Sweden on the Tigris.
Thought two: We can never ever ever ever ever reduce our troop levels in Iraq.
Same brain. Damn, he's trained himself well.
For once, just once, I'd like to see one of those "things are going very well in Iraq and Iraqis are taking responsibility for their own security" blowhards follow through and propose that since things are so great and the perception of murder and chaos is the result of a defeatest, bad-news-focused media, there isn't much of a reason to have our troops there.
While the stay-the-course-even-though-things-are-hunky-dory logic is twisted, we know the logic for the logic: if criticizing the President during wartime is unpatriotic because it hurts the troops' morale, you can attack any criticism on those grounds indefinitely if you never end the war.
