These last two days of radio silence was due partially to the fact that I just signed on the dotted line for a deluxe apartment in the sky. It's in a particularly Upper West Side-y part of Lakeview, close to three express busses and a Caribou Coffee. It may be a sign of maturity of my two new roomies and I that we opted for a nice building with lots of room and easy access to school instead of renting a ramshackle house out in some gentrifying corner of the West Side where we could install a hot tub, as was originally planned.
I haven't had roomates since college, so this will be either lots of fun or a living hell, but I think it will be the former since we have quite a bit of space with which to avoid one another should the need arise.
That, and six glorious gas burners, instead of the wimpy electrics you get in Streeterville.
With your nice new gas stove, just please remember that fish do not fry in the kitchen and beans do not burn on the grill, contrary to popular belief.
It's not going to take much trying, seeing as that there are no hills around here.
