What's more cliche in the blog world than apologizing for light and uninspiring posts of late. What can I say - I've been bored and uninspired.
But now interviews have started, and I'm done with one out of 20. As a project, I'm going to review all of my interviews for you, the likely disinterested reader. Names have been redacted so I have a shot at a callback.
Firm 1: Small DC office of a larger firm based in a mid-sized Midwestern city. The interviewer, a law alum, was nice enough and spent most of the time going through my resume and asking me about nearly every item. On the plus side, I held my own and had something to say about everything. I probably got points for mentioning a recent case the firm's DC office won and talking about how I did some work in her area of specialty over the summer. On the minus side, the fact that I got about three hours of sleep probably showed at least a little because my grammar was a slightly off. In addition, the DC office's summer program is very small and the other three interviewees are all far more "diverse" than me. All told, it was a good, low-stakes first interview.
