This morning, I saw one of our school's law librarians on his hands and knees pulling out reporters one by one to insert newly-arrived pocket parts. He should know more than anyone else that nobody uses paper reporters anymore because Lexis and Westlaw are free here, as is printing from those services. On the one hand, mindless manual labor may keep him in his job. On the other hand, law librarians can be really useful in any number of ways and using them to maintain an obsolete and unused records system instead of focusing on outreach to students and professors who wouldn't usually think to seek their help seems like a waste.
